2. Data Collection in the FamBowl App

Who is responsible for data collection?

How do we collect your data?

Your data is collected in various ways: • Direct input: You enter your data yourself, e.g., during registration, creating a family account, or entering appointments, meals, and tasks. • Automatic collection: When using the app, certain data is automatically collected, e.g., device information, log data, and location data (if you use the weather function). • Third-party sources: If you sign in using Google or Apple, we receive certain information from these providers (e.g., your email address).

What do we use your data for?

We use your data to: • Provide app functionality (family management, calendar, tasks, meal planning, etc.). • Send you notifications about upcoming appointments, tasks, or meals. • Provide the weather function (temporary access to your location). • Create statistics about app usage to improve the user experience. • Manage subscriptions & payments if you subscribe to FamBowl Premium.

3. Special Features of the App and Data Processing

3.1 User Account & Authentication

When you register with FamBowl, we store your email address, name, and profile picture (depending on login option). If you use Google or Apple Login, we receive necessary login information from these services.

3.2 Family Management & Data Sharing

• In FamBowl, you can create a family or join an existing one. • Other family members within the app can see your shared appointments, meals, and tasks. • Your private data (e.g., email or personal settings) remains protected within your account.

3.3 Calendar, Tasks & Meal Planning

• All calendar entries, tasks, and meals you create are stored in our database. • When you add other users to appointments or tasks, they will be notified accordingly. • You can delete or edit existing entries at any time.

3.4 Location Access for Weather Function

• The app can temporarily access your location to display weather data for your region. • The location is only used for this purpose and is not permanently stored. • You can disable location access in your device settings.

3.5 Push Notifications

• FamBowl sends you push notifications for upcoming tasks, meals, and events. • You can manage and disable these notifications in the app settings.

3.6 Subscriptions & Payments (FamBowl Premium)

• When you purchase a premium subscription in the app, payments are processed through Google Play or the Apple App Store. • We don't store payment information, only receiving confirmations of completed transactions. • You can manage your subscription at any time in your app store settings.

4. Storage & Security of Your Data

• Your data is stored in a secure cloud database (Firebase/Firestore). • We use modern encryption technologies to protect your data. • If you delete your account, all personal data will be removed from our database.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to: ✅ Access your stored data. ✅ Correct inaccurate data. ✅ Delete your data (e.g., by deleting your account in the app). ✅ Withdraw your consent to data processing (e.g., for location access or notifications). ✅ Restrict processing if you no longer want certain data to be used.
